Behavioral Health Services

Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS provides services to meet the mental health needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS or who are at-risk for HIV in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. As an integral part of the holistic philosophy of Southwest Center, the clinic promotes growth and wellness by offering individual, couples, family and group counseling. Southwest Center’s specialty areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Stigma and discrimination stressors
  • Feelings of social marginalization
  • HIV status and disclosure
  • Adjustment issues
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Behavioral issues
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Relationship issues
  • Substance abuse
  • Grief and loss
  • Intimate partner and gender-based violence
Setting Goals

You’ll be able to work one-on-one with your counselor to work towards the following goals:

  • Increasing personal awareness
  • Increasing personal responsibility and acceptance
  • Identifying personal treatment goals
  • Recognizing changes necessary to achieve treatment goals
  • Promoting wholeness through psychological treatment and/or psychological and spiritual healing and growth

The Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic is licensed with the Arizona Department of Health Services Office of Behavioral Health Licensure.
